The 1978 STCW Convention entered into force on 28 April 1984. STCW covers the standards of training and certification for all seafarers including standards for licensed deck and engineering officers, special training, emergency and security crew training. The STCW Basic course teaches you critical safety information and is the minimum entry requirement for those wishing to work on Yachts, Cruise ships or other Commercial ships.
